Communications Assistant
Job Type: Part Time; 20 hours per week
Schedule: Hybrid work environment with flexibility to work remotely outside of program hours. On-site presence required Tuesdays (10 a.m.–6 p.m.) and Wednesdays (11 a.m.–7 p.m.), with occasional additional hours for events and outreach activities.
Position Overview: At Revive & Thrive, we believe food is medicine. Our team prepares and delivers medically supportive meals to individuals and families facing serious health challenges, helping improve health outcomes while building community connections and hope.
We are seeking a creative, mission-driven Communications Assistant who is passionate about storytelling and using digital media to inspire action. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys capturing real moments of impact and sharing them through compelling visuals, social media, and written content.
You’ll help tell the story of Revive & Thrive from the kitchen where meals are prepared, to the volunteers and teens who make the program possible, to the clients whose lives are touched through food and care.
Key Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Communications Specialist, the Communications Assistant will support all aspects of content creation, graphic design, and communications strategy.
Develop and curate engaging content across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) aligned with Revive & Thrive’s brand vision, values, and voice, including graphics, photography, and short-form video.
Design branded graphics, promotional materials, and visual assets that support Revive & Thrive campaigns, events, and donor communications using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Manage and monitor Revive & Thrive social media channels, engaging with the audience promptly and professionally while tracking performance metrics to inform content strategy and improve engagement.
Write and design visually compelling newsletters and email communications that drive action and connect with donors, volunteers, and community partners.
Craft and gather compelling, client-centered stories that highlight impact, build trust, and resonate with target audiences.
Ensure all written and visual content is on-brand, accurate, and polished before publication.
Capture photos and short-form video content during kitchen shifts, volunteer activities, and events to document and share Revive & Thrive’s impact.
Support communications and promotional efforts for Revive & Thrive events and fundraising campaigns.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in graphic design, communications, marketing, content creation, or related field.
Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) for an organization or brand, including creating short-form video content with basic filming and editing skills, and proficiency with scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Canva, Meta Business Suite).
Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Strong project management and organizational skills to ensure timely deliverables.
Strong written communication skills, including copywriting and proofreading, with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different audiences.
